Absolute Favorite (for right now)

I found a new weekly photo challenge, hosted by the paper mama. She's got a fun blog, with lots of photos, so I thought I'd give it a go.

The Paper Mama

The theme this week is "Absolute Favorite".  I have too many photos to really do an in depth search, so I limited myself to the last 6 months.

This is Vi and one of her friends, telling secrets in a cave at the children's garden.  I love that you can only see one eye and yet that eye is clearly so very serious.

Play!

I love this photo of Violet. She's laughing. She's swinging. She's in focus...

Don't you just wanna jump into this photo and listen to her giggle? I wish I had recorded her voice.  She was just like a wind chime that day.

All the other kids are outside playing too. Go check them out at I Heart Faces.

Right Now

So, Violet comes downstairs with her kitten ears on and says (rather excitedly), "I'm going to make myself a kitty!"

I probably mumbled something like, "Uh huh, great sweetie", without really looking at her.

When she returned to me this is what I saw.

"What did you use to do that?"

"I used a crayon!"

"Um, what kind of crayon?"

"This!"

That would be an orange MAGIC MARKER, not a crayon.  Luckily, it was not a sharpie.

String Theory for Tots

I'm learning to crochet and therefore have many tempting balls of yarn lying around.  After exhausting her interest in the extra hook I gave her to play with, Violet decided it was time to crochet the house.

While I'm cleaning up all the yarn, you can scoot on over to Family Bliss and read my latest post.

Dr. Violet

Was it gangrene or frostbite? Did she step on a nail and procrastinate in seeking medical attention? Are Antastasia and Drusilla somehow involved in this? Perhaps it was the di-A-betus (as Wilfred Brimley would say it)? Violet will not say why, but C' lella's foot needed to come off. First, she tried with a spoon and then deferred to her father's expertise with a steak knife (she's a magnet). Yes, C' lella suffered mightily. Let's just hope that whatever led to this extreme solution is not contagious. Belle hasn't been looking so good lately. Violet is exploring a controversial and experimental therapy, but only time will tell.
