Sunday morning, my daughter came home looking like this:
Grandma was armed with what I can only imagine to be 1,000 foam rollers and the movie Elf. Violet even consented to sleep in these rollers. The curls were epic and a real son-of-a-bitch to untangle, but the girl was totally enamored of her Orphan Annie do. I attempted to re-create the look on Monday night, with uneven results. Literally. The bottom curlers fell out and I didn't have nearly enough of them. I created something of a curl mullet.
This is how Violet chose to accessorize her curl mullet. No parental influence. Zero irony.
God, I love this kid.
Oh and in case you're wondering if a four year old can really appreciate the genius that is Elf, Violet has a little message for you.
"You smell like beef and cheese. You don't smell like Santa Claus."

My girls love to go curly, although it takes me about an hour to put the rollers in. We use the small pink foam rollers and only small sections of hair to avoid the mullet effect.
ReplyDeleteVery fun!
Oh, and the photo with the hat? Simply darling!
She looks too cute. I love Elf too.
ReplyDeleteAh foam rollers. Skyler always wants them until she's been laying on her pillow for five minutes and then she wants them out. Perhaps we'll have to try again now that she's a little older.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics!
She's adorable. And her fashion sense is astounding!
ReplyDeleteI remember sleeping in foam rollers - I remember the stabbing burning pain of heated rollers too.
ReplyDeleteLittle girls amaze me with their dedication to looking good, when my daughter was 2 her hair was way down her back and she would sit for 2 hours and let me braid and bead it. Now I can barely get her out of bed in the morning to take a shower. Bleugh!
