Pay It Forward: My Way

I recently got a lovely gift from Rachel of A Reservation for Six, but it didn't come without strings attached.  No, I must now Pay It Forward (click the link if you are a nerd like me and want to know where the phrase originated) and send a surprise to one of my readers.  I am also going to make you answer a few questions before I give you free stuff, because I'm difficult like that.

Okay, so here's how it works:

  1.  You comment on this post, with the answers to my questions.
  2.  I pick ONE winner at random. I'll wait 7 days to do this.
  3. You jump up and down when you win and then wait patiently for your super, special gift to arrive in the mail.
  4.  Keep waiting. I'm a procrastinator and a perfectionist.
  5.  After you get your gift, you Pay It Forward on your own blog and give someone else something cool.

Now, if you are still interested, I just have a few questions to ask:

  1. What do you drink in the morning?
  2. Are you the kind of person who writes Thank You cards (and actually mails them)?
  3. Do you use a mouse pad? Should you?
  4. Do you like to carry a notebook in case inspiration strikes?
  5. Visit my Flickr page and look at my Pay It Forward Set. Tell me which photograph you like the best. Would you get a tattoo of it on your butt, or hang it in your bathroom, etc.? I NEED to know.

I'd do it if I were you. I don't have THAT many readers, so the odds are really good.

  1. I'm interested in the contest. Please enter me. To answer your questions, I drink chai tea in the morning. I do write and mail thank you notes. I use a mouse pad. I don't carry a notebook but probably should so I can remember stuff. You have a great pay it forward set on flicker. My favorite is the pinwheel. I'd probably hang it or make it into a card.

  2. Sweet!
    Here are my answers:
    1. In the morning, I drink tea. I'm becoming a tea snob, so lately it has been loose leaf tea.
    2. I'm definitely the person who writes them... but unfortunately, I'm also the person who forgets to mail them (or who gives them to her H to mail and then finds them in his briefcase a year later).
    3. I use a mouse pad when I'm at my desktop (it was a gift from my mom with a pic of me and Peanut when she was just born). Usually I'm on my laptop though... so no mouse pad.
    4. I usually have a pen and paper in my bag. I have a notebook, but I always forget it. I tend to keep it in my night table so that I can grab it (inspiration usually strikes me in the middle of the night).
    5. It's really hard to choose, but I think I like the one with the twirling umbrella the best. (Peanut has that same umbrella!)
I would hang it in my bathroom (I'm actually looking for a photograph to put in my powder room), but I would not tattoo it on my butt (I'm not into tats... too permanent) .
    Thank you for entering me!!!

  3. 1. Coffee.
    2. Yes.
    3. Yes.
    4. Index Cards (recycled, I use the blank sides for everything)
    5. Asparagus. I don't want a tattoo, but that might be cool.

  4. What do you drink in the morning? Nothing. I don't usually have anything to drink until after lunch. I'm weird that way.Are you the kind of person who writes Thank You cards (and actually mails them)? I always want to, and sometimes I even do.Do you use a mouse pad? Should you? Laptop with trackpad. No & no.Do you like to carry a notebook in case inspiration strikes? I use the Notes app on my iPhone, which is always with me.Visit my Flickr page and look at my Pay It Forward Set. 5. I drink tea when breastfeeding, coffee when dad gives me the morning off. I ALWAYS write thank you notes, and mail them, the only reason I have stamps. Use a mousepad: I need boundaries sometimes. My hand is my notebook. Totally love the oreo cookie hand and would put it on our cookie jar as it usually has oreos and should be called the "oreo cookie jar".

ps. love your blogs. plan to keep reading. thanks.

  6. 1. During pregnancy - hot decaf black tea with milk and honey. Otherwise - coffee with milk.

    2. Yes, usually the next day, but then it takes me a week or more to mail them.

    3. No and no.

    4. No, scraps of paper or (more effectively) the note function on my blackberry.

    5. eggs in the carton or pinwheel. The former would be a kitchen photo (I am a rebel like that) the latter in the babies' room.
