I estimate that it has been nearly a week since this pair of shorts landed on the living room floor. Despite their position in a high traffic area, the shorts have remained undisturbed 'lo these seven days. I am waiting for inspiration or annoyance to prompt me to pick them up and return them to the laundry basket. If I remove this obstacle to a clean house it will only lead me to more labor intensive housekeeping. For now, the shorts will stay where they are.
The other day a child who mysteriously resembled my oldest said, "Mama can we clean up the house?"
