Wardrobe Wednesday

I live a scant 3 blocks from a grocery store.  It's nice to be able to walk there, but when I have access to the car I usually drive to Trader Joe's. I may rethink things now. My ghetto market is making a concerted effort to class things up.

Your WIC coupons are welcome here ladies, but the bikini top needs to stay at home.

  1. Disclaimer: So, the husband seems to think that I may have offended people with my WIC comment. I say, you are a sophisticated audience who can handle edgy humor. To be on the safe side, let me say that I am pro WIC. There is nothing wrong with using WIC coupons. Perhaps I am just bitter because we have always made approximately $20 a year too much to qualify for benefits. There you go.

  2. "ladies"?!? You may be pro-WIC, but clearly, you are sexist!

  3. I am particularly grateful that they added in that a bikini top does not count as a shirt. Some women should not be wearing a bikini top to the beach, let alone the grocery store.

  4. I didn't find that offensive, and I have a hair trigger for unexamined privilege (What's that old saying? What you hate the most about others is what you hate the most about yourself...). And, "ladies," used advisedly, can be hilarious.

  6. What about men and those terrible cut-off T-shirts that allow their nasty armpit hair to be exposed? Way more repulsing than a bikini top. Well, most bikini tops anyhow...

  7. The men in our neighborhood have one shirt that the keep for court dates. The rest of the summer it's the birthday shirt. Barf city!
