Bloggers Without Makeup

Bloggers Without Makeup is a meme from across the pond, brought to my attention by MrsW of clinically fed up.  MrsW got the idea from Jodie of Mummy Mayhem.  Now, I am bringing it to you, my American readers. Spread it around. Twitter it, if you're into that (#BloggersWithoutMakeup).

Basically, by showing ourselves au natural we are sending a message to our kids that we are beautiful just as we are.  I don't wear a lot of makeup, but I also don't like to be photographed in my unvarnished state.  My daughter has begun to notice that when I whip out the mascara wand,  good times are in the offing.  I don't want her to think you need to paint yourself to have fun.

So, there you go.  I don't look too bad, especially with that nice light shining in my eyes.

    My kids ask me where I'm going when I put make-up on. They also ask me who's coming over when I clean the house too. Do I appear that lazy, kids?

    I'll bite. I probably won't post until next week though.

    Such beautiful eyes you have. Who needs blue (or green) eyeshaddow when the eye color itself is spectacular.

    My daughter has no idea I wear makeup. I plan to hide this fact for a very long time.

    I was on the way to a meeting one night and my son said, "You forgot something--your makeup!" I made the mistake of asking, "But isn't mommy pretty enough without her makeup?"

    I think we all know how that conversation ended.

    I hopped on the meme bandwagon as well. This has been good for me!

    Talk about timing! Princess just told me yesterday, after a discussion of our many friends who do not wear makeup, that I should try not wearing makeup sometime. I guess she forgot about the 6 months I went without. It seems to be harder for me to go without as I get older. I will attempt to get a photo up today on my blog. Ooh...two posts in two days!! I'm on a roll. ;)

    Oh lawd you're going to make me do this. I am somehow incapable of photographing myself. (I have a friend who is a master of self-photography which is totally irrelevant I know). I'll try. Watch for it.
