The early sun comes into my front window. By mid-morning it lights up Violet's hair as she plays. I love the way she glows. I love how Violet warms herself in the slowly shifting patch of brightness on my floor. On lazy Sundays I am reminded how madly in love I am with this girl. Her Daddy and I could get drunk on her laughter.
This is why I learned how to take photographs. I desperately want to remember this, all of it. Static, sunshine, pinwheels and monkey pajamas. My baby will be grown up way too soon, but this image will never change.

Very cool picture!
ReplyDeleteI feel awkward asking where all the red came from, but, where did all the red come from?
ReplyDeletelove the hair.
Great photo! I was just looking back through old photos of Princess this morning. It is incredible how quickly time passes and how much she has grown.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering about the red too. I love the light in this photo.
ReplyDeleteYOU are going to make me cry. When I tugged in my kids last night, gave them their hugs and kisses, I almost choked... I'm so in love with them.
ReplyDeleteNo paternity test needed, my hair turns red in the sun as well.
ReplyDelete;)
Um, yeah I just realized that you are wondering about the red on her face. It's a pinwheel in motion.
ReplyDeleteGeesh, I feel kind a silly now.
Best advice I ever got when my first child was born was "Write it down. You think you'll remember everything, but you won't." Violet will treasure these pictures when she's older.
