Wardrobe Wednesday

Did you know that a 6-9 month sweater makes a great shrug for a slender 4 year old?  Well, neither did I until yesterday.  My child is obviously a re-purposing prodigy.  I'm swelling with pride and flush with the $15 this discovery has saved me.

Violet is also going through a shirt tucking phase right now.  I have NO idea where she learned this.  I cannot think of a single person in her everyday life who actually tucks their shirt into their pants.  She insists that the waistband must be seen, even when it doesn't have a bow or rosettes or whatever.  Am I raising an accountant? I'm not so sure the visible panties under the tiny tutu is a part of the CPA's wardrobe.

  1. Violet is as clever as her mother!

My Mae has been hell-bent on tucking lately too. Not sure what that's about. I try to discourage it because it makes her look even taller and skinnier than usual and she manages to pull her pants way up to her nose in the process.

Now you have me thinking up a WW for next week...

  2. That is a goofy picture.

The other day, I dismantled a too small dress that was paint stained and therefore not hand-me-down-able but which did have some nice fabric to hang onto. I cut the bodice off, and the girl found it before I had a chance to toss it. It's now become her "bra" - she's been wearing to bed every night OVER her pajama top.

  3. She's a total fashionista!

I have been known, on occasion, to tuck my shirt into my pants AND hike it up under my 'pits.
