Fairy wings are a frequent part of Violet's wardrobe. This skirt is just one of 5 skirts that I made in a recent burst of creative diarrhea energy. I went crazy and bought a bunch of half yard fabric remnants on Etsy and used them to make skirts and crayon rolls*. Half a yard of fabric is just enough to make one skirt for my little pixie, with a leftover strip that can contribute to making a crayon roll.
Bonus Outfit!
As I was composing this post, Violet emerged from her room like this. She is looking forward to summer, with a halter dress, but keeping things practical by layering it with a long sleeved shirt.
*For the uninitiated, a crayon roll is a crayon holder made out of fabric that can be rolled up for easy transport. See here for visual.

Wings are all the rage with the under 7 fashionistas...as is reworking a summer outfit for cooler weather. SO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter loves wings - I should have put a pic of her up today. This is me showing my ignorance but what is a crayon roll? I can't sew for the life of me.
ReplyDeleteI love the head-on-the-shoulder pose- she's such a pro!
ReplyDeleteI have a link in the post that will show you what a crayon roll is, if you've never seen one.
ReplyDeleteIs Violet available for fashion tips? My girls don't get that sundresses aren't very pracitcal in the middle of winter.
ReplyDeleteI love that she layers the long sleeve top with halter dress herself. Cute and practical.
ReplyDeleteOh and I'm so jealous of all your craftiness.
ReplyDeleteAdorable, as usual! Crayon rolls were new to me, to! Could have used a few last week!
ReplyDeleteYup - they're cut from the same cloth.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm still laughing about the salivating uterus. I think I spit on my keyboard laughing. Then I read it to my husband and laughed more at his face. LOL
