Lynda Carter Would Be Proud

I cannot summon words to describe how I feel about today. It was a beautiful inauguration, with the possible exception of Rick Warren, but I'll leave that be in the spirit of the moment.

Violet sensed the importance of the day and dressed appropriately. I think her wardrobe makes the best statement about our hopes for the future.

Vigilant. Confident.
Fabulously dressed.

  1. Speaking of costumes... Did you happen to see the hat Aretha Franklin wore today? WOW!

  2. That outfit is FABULOUS. Love it. I was just in my sweats... but the speech was awesome.

  4. Absolutely inspirational! (Obama's speech and Violet's attire, of course.)

I spent the day in jammies; not exactly an inaugural ball, but a day I'll never forget nonetheless.

  5. I kind of FELT like Wonder Woman when he took the oath. Wish I had a costume, too.

And Aretha's hat? I wondered if it was going to light up.

  6. Designer to Aretha "A bow? how big do you want it?"

Aretha "I don't want the crowd to need the megatron TVs to see it."

    Designer "Hmmm."

    Aretha "Oh and SPARKLES!"

Designer (aside) "Gonna need to get more BRATS fabric at Jo Ann's."
